Fortwilliam Musical Society was delighted to receive four AIMS nominations for Calamity Jane:
Fiona Keegan was delighted to be asked to reprise the role that she had played to great acclaim for Bangor Operatic Society in 2005. Her trademark combination of high energy, comic timing and fine singing led the AIMS Best Female Singer award.
We also won the Best Chorus award and finished runner-up in the Best Show category.
Congratulations to everyone involved with the show. This was the first time that Siobhan Mullin has directed us, and the second time that Angela Harding had choreographed us, following on from last year's Hello Dolly!
Congratulations also to Peter Kennedy, who directed a number of our shows in recent years. His own show, Come the Dawn, has received five nominations, including Best Overall Show and the Spirit of AIMS Award, after a highly acclaimed premiere with Encore Theatre Company, Galway.
