AIMS Awards 2003

June 15 2003

Congratulations to us! The Pirates of Penzance won the Best G&S or pre-1935 Show at the AIMS Awards, announced in Killarney on June 14th. This is becoming something of a good habit - we won the same award last year for The Gondoliers. Sean Graham is offering odds of 4-1 for a hat-trick next year with Brigadoon.

Congratulations also to the over-worked and under-appreciated Eileen Kennedy, who has been our Treasurer since the Society was formed in 1977. Her great service was recognised this year when she was nominated for the Mary Kelly Award.

Last, but not least, well done to Ceara Grehan, who won AIMS Best Female Singer for her performance as Anna Leonowens in The King and I with St. Agnes' Choral Society.
